Tenkaippin Ramen

Tenkaippin. I think that you have to try it for yourself. I tried it three times. First time, I thought, maybe the chef had an off day. Second time....I thought, it's okay. Third time, the ramen and the broth was just okay. Nothing to write home about, unfortunately. I want to try it again maybe in 2011, maybe the broth and noodles will get better by then.

Best Ramen ever! Ordered the Kotteri Ramen and it was so smooth and the taste was wonderful. I can not think of anything better in the world to enjoy. Price was good, food was great. will go again for sure!

I feel that words can not describe the Ramen I just ate. The poets have been mysteriously silent on the subject of Tenkaippin Ramen. I wish I had more friends so I could tell them about Tenkaippin Ramen and I don't like people, it is that good!

Went back today and gave them a second chance. Gotta say it was better today. Ordered the Miso Ramen and Gyoza. Soup and noodles were good but not as tasty as some other places in Honolulu. Gyoza were tasty but small. TV was too loud.

This place has been recommended to me multiple times. When you walk in it feels like you are in Japan.....small place with small chairs, low tables, flat screen TV on the wall, etc. My expectations were high. However, it failed to fully materialize. I ordered their #1 seller "Kotteri Ramen". Although the collagen soup is not my style (I prefer shoyu or sesame) I gave it a try in hopes that the meat and noodles would be great. Not so much. The meat was very thin and there was hardly any veggies. The noodles could have been more chewy. On top of that, my soda was mostly ice served in a fast food cup. I'll probably go back just to try their miso ramen. Maybe they can gain another star. Despite my experience, this place is still hyped by other people.
